Meenakari is the craft of decorating metal with bright colour, and Jaipur is one of its best-known homes. The pieces here are painted by hand in the Meenakari style. First a deep ground colour goes on, often blue or green. Then small flowers, dots and fine border lines are picked out in red, green, gold and other colours. The metal figures are shaped and painted by karigar families in Jaipur.
