Product Details

A wide brass cuff built as a honeycomb, dozens of six sided cells pierced clean through the band so it is more open space than metal. It barely weighs a thing. Despite its size it sits light and cool, and the flat brass struts are burnished to a warm gold that deepens the longer you wear it. It is solid brass with a natural finish, not plated, and it is made by artisans working with My E-Haat.

Materials & Care

Solid brass, handmade and built to last. Keep away from water and perfume to slow tarnishing. Wipe with a soft dry cloth; a light patina is natural and can be polished back if you prefer the brighter finish.

Each piece is handcrafted, so slight variations in colour, texture and dimension are natural and celebrate its handmade origin.

The honeycomb pattern reads clean and geometric, so this cuff leans modern more than ornate. It pairs best with simple shapes that let the lattice stay the focus.

Everyday: It is light enough to forget you are wearing it, which makes it an easy daily piece. Wear it with a crisp cotton shirt, a kurta in a solid colour, or a plain dress. The gold tone lifts whites, greys, and denim without shouting.
Workwear: On a structured blouse or a tailored co ord, the hexagon grid adds a quiet architectural note. Keep the rest minimal, a stud earring and one ring, and let the cuff carry the detail.
Occasion: Against a sari or a festive kurta set, the openwork catches light as you move, and the lightness means it stays comfortable through a long evening. It suits both traditional and contemporary outfits, so it travels well across a wardrobe.
Fit and wearing: The cuff is open at the back and eases on over the narrowest part of the wrist, then settles flat. Because the band is mostly open lattice, handle it by the solid edges rather than pressing on the cells. Slide it on last, after dressing, and avoid bending it open and shut repeatedly.

Every hexagon in this cuff is a hole that used to be metal. The honeycomb is not printed or pressed onto the surface, it is pierced right through a flat sheet of brass, cell by cell.

Setting out the grid: The hexagon pattern is marked across the sheet first, so the cells line up evenly once they are cut. A repeat like this has to stay regular, because the eye catches a hexagon that leans the wrong way.
Piercing the cells: This is the long part. Each cell is cut and cleared out by hand, leaving only the thin walls between them. By the end, far more brass has been removed than remains, which is exactly why a cuff this wide ends up so light.
Keeping it strong: The walls left behind are slim, so they are filed and smoothed with care to hold their shape without weak points. The whole lattice is then burnished until the flat struts glow.
Shaping and finish: The band is curved into its open cuff form last of all. It is solid brass throughout with a natural finish and no plating, so a wide statement piece still sits feather light and cool on the wrist.

Hand pierced honeycomb is never machine perfect. Look closely and the cells vary by a hair, the sign of a hand guiding each cut rather than a die stamping them all at once.

What is a honeycomb brass cuff?

A honeycomb brass cuff is an open bangle whose wide band is pierced into a grid of six sided cells, like a honeycomb. The pattern removes most of the metal, so the cuff looks bold but stays very light. This one is made from solid brass by hand.

Is the honeycomb cuff heavy to wear?

The honeycomb cuff is surprisingly light for its width, because so much of the metal has been pierced away to form the lattice. It sits comfortably through a full day and does not drag on the wrist the way a solid wide cuff can. The open structure also lets air through, so it stays cool.

Does a brass cuff turn your skin green?

A brass cuff may occasionally leave a light green trace where it rests, caused by copper in the brass meeting moisture on the skin. The mark is harmless and rinses off, and it shows up more in heat or humidity. Wiping the cuff now and then and keeping it dry keeps it to a minimum.

Is this brass cuff solid brass or plated?

This brass cuff is made of solid brass with a natural finish, so there is no plating layer to chip or rub off. The warm gold you see is the metal itself, which means it ages honestly rather than flaking. A polish brings back the shine whenever you want it brighter.

How do I clean and care for a honeycomb brass cuff?

To clean a honeycomb brass cuff, work a little lemon and salt or tamarind paste gently into the lattice with a soft brush, then rinse and dry it completely. Because the cells are thin, handle it by the solid edges and avoid pressing on the pattern. Store it dry to slow tarnishing between wears.

Who should not wear a brass cuff?

Anyone who reacts to copper or mixed metal alloys should test a brass cuff on the skin before wearing it for long periods. Brass is a copper and zinc alloy, so a few people find it irritates sensitive skin. If costume jewellery has bothered you before, start with short wears.

What are the disadvantages of brass jewellery?

The trade off with brass jewellery is that it dulls and darkens over time as it reacts with air and skin. This is surface tarnish, not damage, and it polishes away easily. Brass also carries more weight than thin plated pieces, though the honeycomb piercing keeps this cuff light.

Will this brass cuff fit my wrist?

This brass cuff is an open, one size piece that slips on over the narrow side of the wrist and turns to sit flat. The gap at the back allows a small and gentle adjustment for comfort. Take care near the lattice and adjust only by the solid edges.

Is brass or stainless steel better for a bracelet?

Whether brass or stainless steel suits you depends on look and maintenance. Brass gives a warm, handmade gold tone that needs the odd polish, while stainless steel stays bright with almost no care but looks cooler and more mass produced. For a handcrafted gold toned lattice like this, brass is the natural fit.

Is a brass cuff a good gift?

A brass cuff is an easy gift because its open fit suits most wrists without asking for a size. This honeycomb piece arrives handmade, light to wear, and with a clear maker story, which gives it more meaning than a mass made bangle. It works for festivals, birthdays, and everyday gifting.
